If you knew your babys gender @ 8 wks, would this impact your decision to carry?

  • Yes, if I knew the gender I would definately choose to keep the baby
  • Yes, it could impact my decision on whether or not I choose to keep the baby
  • No, this would not play a role in my decision

I wonder in the end, *What* difference will it make for women who

From a cultural standpoint , no...but from a personal standpoint yes. Gender might make a difference. If a woman has say 2 girls and DH wants a boy, she might abort another girl knowing that the family can only support 3 children and having family preassure for that boy to carry on DH's family name.

I think if the person had a strong attachment to a certain relative or friend of the same gender as the baby, they might change their mind (medical decisions aside, Kate).

For instance, a woman with a strong attachment to her mother and sisters may wonder if the baby would look or act like one of them, or even more likely, herself, if she found out
