Taking you out of it and just debating what I a reading as the question.

I think the number of children you already have to care for is a factor in determining if you are willing to raise a special needs child. I know that it is easier for a parent of one to be able to run to the hospital at the drop of a hat or spend hours and hours at their sick childs side. When you have other kids to care for you can not always leave teh house until you arrange care for them and they often can not do normal kid things because the parent is too busy with the sick child.

While this alone should not be the only consideration when a woman decided weather or not to continue a pregnancy with a genetic disorder ability to care for ALL our children has to be a factor.

Good to see you again. I don't know what to say other than you're on the right track thinking about these things and talking it out with DH and *Hugs*

Hello, I am new to this discussion board, I came on here to do some research on an assignment for reproductive therapy in one of my classes on abortion. Well I was wondering have you gone to the doctor first to discuss the risk level for you having a child with a disease such as down syndrome? Because most females are not at risk until after the age of 35-36, and the risk is usually lower if you have already had healthy pregnancies and
