Let me guess - you really didn't have any opinion about abortion, never really thought about it much, but just a perfectly reasonable, unbiased individual, until you happened upon a link one day. Reading the factual description of abortion, your sensible, unbiased point of veiw led you to be disgusted at the ramifications, as any sensible, unbiased person with any shred of compassion would be at the very idea. And you felt compelled to share this information with others - that they might be so enlightened.

Any reasonable person would certain see the logic in your new, groundbreaking way of looking at abortion. An actual fetus - that would otherwise be born - is NOT!!

Am I close?

I'm so sorry to hear that. As a Pro-Choicer, I believe that decision should have been entirely yours. Forced abortion, like forced pregnancy, is abhorrent and utterly wrong.

Emberann: <>>

Erosia: How many have you had? I have had 3 D&Cs following miscarriages, 2 curettage and one suction. And they were a lot more gentle than the 4 c sections I had. C sections are major abdominal surgery and the abdominal wall is opened and many major organs handled. It carried much more risk than a simple D & C- and from experience infinitely MORE pain. NONE of my D&Cs hurt.

I'm glad I read through before replying, lol! I was going to ask the OP if she has any experience of childbirth - NOT the most gentle occurrence, in my personal experience!

< I don't like abortion, don't agree with abortion, yet in some situations it is the best option?>

I think you'd have to go quite a long way to find someone who LIKES abortion. Most people would rather not be in the situation to need one in the first place.

Do you think it's wise to force a woman to gestate a pregnancy she doesn't want?

But also just so you know birth control pills, shots, iud's and so forth all stop a fertilized egg from bieng able to implant itself inside of the uterus, therefore it starves to death and is then expelled through your menstrual period. That bieng said, if life truly starts at conception then a fertilized egg is a child and therefore birth control is also a form of abortion.

I was forced into abortion and I regret it and would never do it again, but I do not understand pro lifers who preach about birth control, because if they actually read up on it they would see the big picture.

I think most PC posters would agree with this. I have never encountered anyone who was PC that thinks it's ok for abortion to casually be used as the only method of birth control. We are ALL FOR taking responsibility BEFORE conception occurs and preventing pregnancy in the first place.

See, this is where I begin to have a problem with

<<

Not at all. Many fetus prove not to be viable after a heart beat has been established

<< Do they have a big sheet like for a ceserian?>>

Don't know- they administer the most AWESOME general anesthesia first- beats the heck out of an epidural ;-)

<< How in the world is it legal to kill life or as many like to say here, the potential for life? >>

No woman is compelled to accept the role as incubator against her will. No woman is compelled to accept one set of risks over another against her will. THAT is why.

<>

Um no. Try yanking out an embryo at that age and see what happens.

<>

You mean life support system?

<>>

Right. And that potential only continues with the willing participation of the woman who bears the brunt of all of the short and long term risks..
