OK so I am thinking about the insinuation and flat out claims I have hears that women do not know what they are doing when they have an abortion. Well I did a quick google search of what happens during abortion and here are the first 5 links I turned up (btw I phrased it as a question figuring that is how the least tech savy would do it and therefore the results of my search would be more relevant)

Answer
It really depends on what type of abortion you get. There are a couple different ones.
RU-486 is an abortion pill. You take the first dose at the doctor office or clinic then they send you home with the 2nd dose. After the 2nd dose you pretty much have a voluntary miscarriage. It is a miscarriage only you brought it on by yourself through the pills.

D&C is where they actually dialate you and pull the fetus out using tongs/vacuum/scraper. They will dialate you using the same drug used to dialate women in labor. (normally pitocin) then they use a special tool to scrape the inside of your uterus to make sure you get all of the tissue and other stuff off. That is when they use the vacuum. It cleans up all of the tissue that is scraped. It also cleans up the actual fetus of the unborn child.

I would recommend going to your local Planned Parenthood to get information regarding this subject matter. You can also go to the planned parenthood website and get information ont he different types of abortion. Good Luck!

When is a Baby a Human?
Fetal Development From conception to birth

So when is a baby a human? When is wrong, regardless of what is legal, to take the life of a developing baby? At what point in this timeline is the new life not a baby? By week 6 you have brain waves. By week five you have eyes, legs, and hands. What was it just a few minutes before week 5? You see, it is unavoidable: The fertilized egg is human in every way.

What is an abortion?
An abortion is the ending of a pregnancy. In a spontaneous abortion, the embryo or fetus is expelled from the woman’s uterus. Most people call this a “miscarriage”. In a therapeutic abortion, the embryo is removed or expelled from the woman’s uterus, depending on the procedure. The embryo or fetus gradually develops into a baby.

An abortion is done only when the fetus is in the early stages of development. In an average abortion, the fetus is about 3 cm long. Scientists tell us that the fetus has no awareness (including no awareness of pain) until sometime after the 5th month of pregnancy.

This information tells you about an abortion to end a pregnancy. It explains
the different types of abortion, how they work, what the risks are and what
to expect afterwards.

SO if anyone in this day and age does not know what an abortion is and what it does they are probably not functioning at near full mental capacity and someone else is signing their consent forms

It sounds like you assumed that all women have access to the internet and do their research prior to going to a clinic/doctor.

In my state, it is a legal requirement that a book on fetal development is given to a person seeking an abortion, as well as having a conversation with a doctor in which the procedure is explained in great detail no less than 24 hours prior to their appointment.

No internet? No problem.

It was an example of how redily available the information is.

Really do you think there are any women of child bearing age who have the mental capability to give consent that does not know exactly what an abortion does?

"It sounds like you assumed that all women have access to the internet"

Everyone who lives in the United States has access to a public library with internet access. They might have to wait for awhile, but it's there. So they may not choose to use it, but they certainly have access to it.

Yeah but what if my 70 year old grandma gets pregnant? She don't know squat about computers. We have to save her from her obvious ignorance and make her watch graphic movies
