The most prolific abortionist...

Okay, so there's been some discussion about how women who have abortions will have to face God and explain their decision to abort. This got me thinking.
Let's assume (even if you don't believe in God/one God) that God creates pregnancy. I've heard many people on several different boards say that pregnancy is a "gift from God," so I imagine this is plausible. If God grants the pregnancy, then how does one explain spontaneous abortion (natural miscarriage, not caused by anything the mother did or in the outside environment). I knew tons of women on my Expecting Club who had spontaneous abortions of very-much wanted children. Did God abort the pregnancy? If God deliberately granted a woman a pregnancy, does he deliberately grant her a spontaneous abortion? If not, why not? If so, does this make God the most prolific abortionist of all time?
If other forces are at work (e.g. Satan), then does that mean that Satan can overpower the will of God?
Just curious. I'll post my own opinion below.
