Hey all I need some help and I am off to work but I need to know for another Ivillage member what is the cut off (time wise) for abortion in rhode island
Do they require parental consent
Do they have safe Havens
What programs do they have for teen moms

Funny you should ask that, since we discussed in another thread that Rhode Island's late term abortion law while worded to prohibit a child that has "quickened" has been interpreted by the courts to mean prohibiting abortion past 24 weeks.


Rhode Island requires parental consent of one parent but the teen may obtain judicial bypass.


Rhode Island does have a safe haven law that allows for the drop off of a child of up to one month old.


Someone else will have to find the information on programs for teen mothers.

Awesome. Well the info is awesome maybe not so awesome if you are a pregnant teen in Rhode island.

Well, RI is next to CT, and CT doesn't require parental notification or consent (though they strongly recommend notification).
