If anyone wants to play along. Are there any reasons you would have an abortion yourself? What would be a deciding factor to you?
I am asking because along with PL's on this board there are PC's who are PL for themselves. We also have CFBC, TTC, pregnant, and people with completed families so I thought it would be nice to see how much variance there would be in the answers.
I would like to do this without attacking other peoples hypothetical choices but as I know that may not happen I completely understand people not wanting to partake.

Ok guess I should answer this.
I would abort if my life was in immediate danger, or if the child was going to live a short pain filled life. I can not think of any other situation for me where I would defiantly abort but I know there are other situations where I would consider it such as if I needed treatment for aggressive cancer, or needed to donate an organ to my DS. I am not sure what I would decide but I know it would be an option.

Ok, I'll bite.
I got pregnant when I was 19. I was with my daughter's father for 3 years and on the pill. It failed and I now have an almost 5 year old roommate. :-P I gave birth during my junior year of college, finished my BSB, got a well-paying job in corporate America, and am working on my MBA. My daughter and I live alone in a townhouse, I drive a good car, pay for both of our health insurances, have life insurance and a 401K, pay for her daycare, and still manage to find money to feed us and allow us to have some fun. Did I work my butt off to get where we are? Absolutely. Did I work two jobs while in college full-time and nursing a newborn for 8 months? Sure did. But it paid off. I chose to not have an abortion when I got pregnant with my daughter because her father and I were engaged and were planning on having kids once we got married anyway. We did not end up staying together but are still on friendly terms. Abortion was not an option for me at 19 because I was not in a dire situation in my life.
Fast forward 2 years. I am finally done with school and just started said job in corporate America. We are struggling financially as I just finished school, but squeaking by. I start dating a guy who seems wonderful in the beginning. A couple months into the relationship, we sleep together. Afterwards, I start to feel a little uneasy about some of his behaviors--controlling, drinking, etc. A short while after I find out that he uses drugs, but hadnt told me that so far. I start distancing myself from him. He becomes almost maniacal with stalking tendencies, text messages saying "Redrum", showing up and banging on the windows of my house in the middle of the night, and even hitting me once. After he struck me, I attempted to cut off all contact. Fast forward 2 weeks later. My period is late. I am pregnant. Having a daughter already, I am well aware of a father's rights and how my daughter and I would be tied to this abusive man for the rest of our lives. I already feared for our safety and refused to put myself and my daughter in any greater danger. I aborted. I have *never* ever regretted my decision. To me, I chose life. I chose to do what would allow me to be here for my daughter. There is no doubt in my mind that if I hadn't aborted, I would be either dead or severely injured from that man. It was the only logical and loving option for my situation.

I would abort if I became pregnant.
1. I don't want any more children.
2. At 42, I REALLY don't want any more children.
3. I'm a brittle diabetic, and the health repurcussions are something I'm just not willing to confront.
4. At 42, the other health issues and risk of defects aren't something I'm willing to deal with.

For me, personally, it would have to be some kind of extreme circumstance.

When I was about 25, my doctor found something in my breast. She was concerned and wanted a surgical biopsy performed. At the same time, I skipped a couple periods, not something I normally did. I knew right then and there, even after being pro-life for all my youth, that I would have an abortion rather than postpone that surgery.
Fortunately I was not pregnant and the "something" wasn't cancer.
Today, I'm over 40. I'm at a higher risk for diabetes due to genetics. I work two jobs, the second of which I love but if I had a baby I would have to quit. Yes, if I got pregnant today I would probably have an abortion.

Actually, there is not a reason I can think of that I would not abort.
