hello everyone!! i have a question-do fathers have any rights when it comes to abortion?? one of my hubbys cousins just met his 16 year old dd. he knew she was out there-the mother had another man sign the birth certificate and the mother said she didnt want anything from the cousin. the dd was the one that initiated the meeting-shes known for a few years that the man who raised her wasnt her biodad. the cousins are all trying to deal with this new member of their family and last night, jay was talking about when he found out the woman was pregnant, he asked her what she was planning to do...and she obviously ended up keeping it...but he brought up a good point-if she had chosen to have an abortion, would he have had any say?? could he have told her no and by law, been able to stop her or is it all the womans choice? i thought it all fell to the woman-its her body, her choice-as far as i knew, the father doesnt have a choice or a say at all...i know if the baby is given up for adoption-then the father has to sign away his rights as well as the mother does...but what are the dads rights as far as abortion???

Nope men have no legal rights, her body her choice, just the same as his body his choice.

No right to force her to get an abortion. No one should have any right to force anyone to have any kind of medical or surgical procedure against his or her will. I do believe that men should have a right to choose whether or not to be the legal parent of a child that is in the process of gestation.
