Just proof that it isn't a pro-life movement to these people, it's a chance to control women, control behaviour, and promote ignorance.

Gee, who would've thought that by restricting birth control, the abortion rate would go up?

There aren't any surprises in that article.

PL organizations believe that sex should be restricted to a husband and wife and that all resulting pregnancies shoujld be welcomed. BC is contrary to their beliefs.

A winter statistic:

98% of Americans say "Oh Crap" before going in the ditch on a snowy, icy road.

The other 2% are from Pennsylvania and they say "hold my beer and watch this!".

hello!! this makes no sense. "im against abortion-but im also against birth control. just dont have sex." yeah-thats a real good strategy. im catholic-and i had a discussion with my priest one time about birth control. he told me "its more about conception control. i see no problem with that. but if youre using abortion as a form of birth control, then theres a problem. so conception control is okay." i would think that prolifers would be all for preventing unwanted pregnancies. if the baby is never concieved, then theres no chance for an abortion because you have prevented it. "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." when the "leaders" are restricting birth control and abortion-then its about control not about being prolife or prochoice...and makes no sense.

But of course the so-called Pro-Life movement is about CONTROL. Low-income women/families who really have no money, hence no real power over their lives, are controlled by those who do have money and wield the power.

I'm not Joanne, but I am guessing that her reasoning for talking to her priest about birth control was to get an understanding about the Catholic Church's position on birth control and to understand why they feel that way.

"If one is not mature enough or stable enough to accept that simple fact of life, then yes, that person should NOT be having sex with anyone."

Unless said person is a male, in which case it's not a big problem.

At the very least you are consistent, but you must realize that most effective barrier methods rely on men (who do not have an amazing track record on this issue), which gives women little recourse but to deny sex even to their husbands if they do not want to conceive.

It's cute when expectant fathers say "we're pregnant" but you and I know the truth of the matter. My husband did not suffer morning sickness, he did not suffer from joint pain, and he certainly did not suffer from pre-eclampsia or the drugs used to mitigate its consequences like I did.

He did gain 20 lbs last year, but I assure you that it was not due to being directly pregnant. ;)

Denying women the most obvious, effective means of preventing pregnancy is to either deny them the ability to control family size, or deny them the ability to have sex, inside or outside of marriage.

While we have different stances (although I do think life begins at conception)
