Does anyone think Planned Parenthood would go out of business if Roe vs Wade is overturned?

I'm a male, btw.

Hi Cnon!

I haven't been keeping up with all the news lately. Is there talk of overturning Roe v Wade?

I doubt it. Planned Parenthood's services are mostly geared toward prevention of future pregnancy, not the termination of existing pregnancies. IMO, many people grossly overestimate the number of abortions performed in the US every year, as well as the number actually performed by PP itself.

Have a look at their 2008 Annual Report. I've pulled out this blurb, which seemed pertinent to your question, but there's lots of other interesting reading there.

As others mentioned, abortion is only a small part of the services offered by PP.

Many PP branch offices don't provide abortion services at all; when needed, people are referred to those branches which do.

Why do you think RvW would be overturned?

I think if RvW is ever overturned, women should only have procreative sex with men, and save all of the recreative sex for women ;-P

Wouldn't take long for constitutional amendment to be proposed by the male senators, LOL!

The question was in response to this video I found on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAlRWvjyXC0&feature=related

Which is a pro-life one and says 90% of its business comes from abortion..............but it doesn't say were it gets that stat or the one about it being the #1 provider of abortions in the U.S.

Hmmm.... a PL group using made up stats to bolster their argument.

Sad, yes, but not even a little bit surprising.
