by religious morals.

Very often with these debates its simply boils down to religion versus logically thinking and law. (No I am not saying religion is not logically but it does bases itself on the principle of do not question).

What do you think? Do you think that religious morals belong to the people of that religion only? Or do you believe that everyone should choose for themselves? because this is what it is boiling down to.

I don't think religious morals that are not the person's in question should have any bearing.

Religions should apply to their members, not to the general population.

In abortion, as always, I remain pro-choice.

You can have morals and not be religious at all. We all have things that shape our opinions -

""by religious morals.""

Absolutely NOT.

I vehemently oppose religion dictating the rights and lives of people who don't belong to that specific religion.

It would be interesting to hear what the pro-lifers think.

Well that will vary widely depending on who you talk to.

Some PLers base their decision on morals alone and leave religion out of the question, others feel so secure in their beliefs that they think anyone who believes differently is simply in denial and really deep down agrees with them so it is ok to force their religion on others, other still think forcing their religion on others is a dictate of God.

Just as PCers all come to their conclusion from different places so do Plers.

I think it's a mistake to categorise the positions as religiously-based. There are pro-choice Christians and pro-life atheists.

hello!! there are no easy answers to your questions...this is my 2 cents:
i think that religious beliefs and morals apply to those that believe them but that each person has their own mind. i am catholic and yet i use birth control. i dont use abortion as birth control-maybe i should call it conception control instead. on abortion-i believe that life begins at comception. thats very catholic in its root. and for this...for myself-i am prolife. i would also hope that when i raise my children-they will be prolife too. i have a sister that is also catholic and shes prochoice. i also have friends that are prochoice and have had abortions. i respect the fact that they have their own minds and own opinions. i might not 100% agree with that choice, but they have their own lives and their own choices to make. i dont shun them or judge them because of it.
