I mentioned before that women who do not want to have children can have hysterectomies.

I charted cervical mucus as a method of TTC, and I can say that it's actually pretty obvious the different stages.

The only problem is that, unless you have a perfectly regular cycle each month, you won't know exactly when it's going to change. And, you may not know how long your husband's sperm will last inside- some can survive for a week.

Unfortunately, there's a little joke that was making its way around my EC:

Question: "What do you call women who use NFP?"

Answer: "Mom."

You asked Spencer what she did for bc, so I'll tell you what I'm doing.

1. Don't assume that your sex drive will totally tank. Mine is certainly lower than it was before we got pregnant, but DH and I still have sex 2-3 times a week. This has been the case since we were "allowed" to have sex four weeks pp. We used condoms until I could get on something else. Prior to that, we did everything we were "allowed" to do short of intercourse.

2. I got on the minipill (Progestin-only) at seven weeks pp. I didn't want to go on birth control again (it lowers my sex drive and I just didn't like being on artificial hormones all the time), but I *hate* condoms, I'm afraid of IUD's and I just don't trust NFP. Some people get their periods right away with this pill but I haven't had yet. I had really light spotting for a day at 11 weeks and then again a couple of weeks ago, but nothing otherwise.

""As you said, TTC seemed to work great as birth control for you. ;)"

Which is why I'm terrified that now that I'm CFBC, I'm going to get pregnant with septuplets by standing downwind of DH.

This is pretty much how I feel. Having been on the Pill for the first few years of our relationship, I was MONSTROUS when I came off it. Absolutely evil! And I would really rather not go through that again. I also don't like the idea of going on and off artificial hormones.

But like you, I despise condoms, fear IUDs and distrust NFP. So it's really a choice between trusting to luck and going on the Pill.

He can. If DH wasn't such a chicken poo about needles and the such, he would have been snipped a few months ago. As it is, I have to have the tubal on Tuesday after giving birth 24 hours previous. Honestly, I really don't care as long as we minimize our ability to procreate to almost 0%. I've been pregnant for almost 3 1/2 years and I'm done with it. I'm in the hospital and already recovering from something extremely stressful to my body...why not add something else to it?
