Yesterday I got into an arguement with my midwife about the glucose test.

I don't know your midwife or her intentions, but maybe she just wants to be sure that you are taken care of completely and that there is a minimal risk for you and the baby. I hope you work it out - for your own peace of mind with her. I will see if there is anything that I can find about it too.

Just curious but what's the big deal about taking it again?

Because I don't want the bruise on my arm for a week, and I don't like the sick feeling I have fromt aking the test, which as I look more into it there isn't a need to take.

JMHO, but it seems a small price to pay to ensure the health and wellbeing of you and your unborn child.

I thought checking one's blood sugar involved withdrawing a minute amount of blood and checking the glucose level. What's all this about fasting and stuff? As for bruising, maybe you just bruise easily. I wouldn't mind the bruise if I were you, but it doesn't sound right if you are being tortured by this test.

((Kim)) Remember, YOU are in charge of your health care choices. It sounds like you have researched this & determined your risk level. If it's one thing I've learned over at the Vax Debates, it's that YOU are in charge, YOU are the boss, and the physician/midwife is the professional you have hired to be your team partner.

When the baby is born, you too, have choices on whether to accept or reject treatments for the baby, such as Vit K injections, HepB vaccine, silver nitrate or antibiotic eye drops. You may need to be a bit emphatic, but it well within your rights to refuse specific tests and/or treatments.

When I was pregnant, I refused the AFP, the last pregnancy (age 37)
