I know PL are working to reduce abortion, limit abortion and end abortion.

Thank you. As a non-American, I'm at a bit of a disadvantage because I'm not easily able to reel off tons of evidence to support my point (although at least I provided some, lol!) simply due to not living there.

How is a desire to 'take this country back for Jesus'

Not every crime is investigated as the possibility of a hate crime (despite what hollywood would have us believe) It doesn't matter the race or religion of the victim unless there is some evidence to support it having been one it is treated like any other act of violence.

The fact is that since straight white Christians are the majority there are less hate crimes committed against them. It still happens but there are not as many potential "haters" as when you are in a minority group.

>>People in this country have NO idea what true religious persecution entails and it's a bit ugly to see the sentiment tossed about so casually.<<

I agree. When Christians are AFRAID of leaving their house with a cross on their jewelry because it means they will probably be beaten/raped/killed THEN they would be the victims of religious persecution. As a society we have so little first hand knowledge of this (thank god) that we have decided that telling people they can not teach their religious beliefs in public school, they can not force others to adhere to the tenets of their faith by making them law, and that they are not allowed to reflect a religious preference in government is religious persecution. It doesn't qualify by a long shot. Inquisition, Holocaust, and any genocide based on religion qualifies. Christians in North America have no reason to live their lives in fear. They are not being systematically terrified or killed. They are being told to confine their religion and it's teachings to their own lives. Sorry doesn't count at all IMO

Well, I can't get a copy of the Lowes Winter circular that was in the news papers for the last two years.

But why can you focus on only religious following and not his break away from that faith in the manor that I posted?

I think that the references to Jesus Christ in those quotes established that.

Because HE, Huckabee, uses it as part of his platform. Like this debate board, you put it out there, it's going to get debated, picked at, held up t scrutiny. I think Obama is catching a lot of flack over his Muslim roots.

He (Obama) isn't Muslim, he is Christian.
