I see a whole lot of people talking very eloquently about the physical and biological aspects of abortion.

Why would it have been horrendous?

Speaking only for myself, I have no desire to see video of any medical procedure I may need. If the doc explains what will happen, that is completely adequate for me (maybe with a little googling to back it up). This goes for abortion, c-section, appendectomy, you name it. If I wanted to look at the insides of people's bodies, I would be a surgeon.

If you (general) want to see a video of the procedure you're going to have done, fill your boots. But not me. Noooo thank you! And NO WAY IN HELL will anybody force me to watch such a film!

I believe KM's abortion was medically necessary - IIRC, it was a wanted fetus but her life was in danger, so they had to abort. Making her watch film of an abortion at that point would have been little short of torture.

Would you acknowledge that there would be women who would change their mind after viewing a medically accurate film of their chosen proceedure and the result?

Did not realize that.

Apparently I have touched a nerve--and that is great.

"Oh, and to the OP: the only person out of those I know that aborted that has an OUNCE of regret some 25 years later is the one who did it to please her boyfriend and avoid upsetting her parents. The rest of those women who made the choice with thought and of their own volition STILL are happy with that choice. 2 remain childfree by choice and three went on to have children later in life."

I think that like so many choices in life, some people make the wrong choice for them at times. I don't think abortion is always the right choice and I don't think that pregnancy is always the right choice. I know one person that mourns her abortion, but doesn't regret it. She knew that she wasn't capable of handling a pregnancy and had an abusive bf who she had to get a restraining order against and she was 16 at the time. Every year at the anniversary of her abortion, she has a hard day reflecting on her choice, but still feels it was the right choice for her. I know other people that regret abortion that were pressured into it, and I know some people who regret going through with their pregnancy. Like so many choices in life people do not always make the right one for them, but I don't think the fact that some people make the wrong decisions should mean taking away decisions from everyone.
