What do you say when

a GUY keeps using the "Don't have sex if you're not going to be willing to go full term with a pregnancy from it " argument. I am ready to jump through the screen and strangle this guy because no matter what I say he says this back (this is from my local community forum message boards).

I thought I would come to the experts.

I think she was referring to my question regarding actual pregnancy.

Do any of you have children? or Carried them?
I'm pro choice when it comes to rape, incest, or for a medical reason like an epotic pregnancy or other medical reasons where in duration of pregnancy/ labor you may loose either the baby or mother or possibly even both.
Anything else than that, I don't know how you could have an abortion if you knew
the actual development of the baby and Do any of you realize that at 10 weeks (11 gestation)
that the baby is no longer considered an embryo, however it is a FETUS AKA A BABY!! because it has every organ developed to live and they just have to grow bigger!!!!!!
at 5weeks it already has a primitive heart - but a heart none the less

I have children. I have two of them.

That's wonderful. I'm pro-choice when it comes to all those things, as well as any other reason a woman possibly has for aborting. Know why? It's not any of my business, or anyone else's, why she decides to have an abortion. Just as it's not any of my business, or anyone else's, why a woman would decide to gestate a pregnancy, and trust me... I've heard some pretty STUPID reasons for people deciding to get pregnant and procreate some offspring!

"because it has every organ developed to live and they just have to grow bigger!!!!!!"

Really? You're obviously VERY uneducated in the development of embryos and fetuses.

I had another post in the works, but my computer crashed.

So, rather than rewrite it, suffice it to say, "Ditto to everything Colleen said in post #25 of this thread, even the part about having two kids."

"It is right to be contented with what we have, but never with what we are."

"Do any of you have children? or Carried them?"

I suspect this is a drive-by, but I'll answer anyway.

Yes, a girl; I just finished carrying her. Based on that, there's no way I could agree to force someone to go through what I did. Pre-eclampsia is a horrible, scary thing (as is the stuff they give you to keep it from killing you), and while I would go through it again in a heartbeat to get another little turkey like the one I have now, I have no business making that decision for anyone else.

I thought the same thing, too. "Post and Run." Gotta love 'em.

Heres an answer from someone who is not only a mother but a grandmother. I'm very pro-choice, always have been always will be. I lost a dear sweet cousin to a illegal abortion back in the late '60. I've been pregnant 5 times, twice after having my tubes tied and it took having partial hysterectomy to stop getting pregnant.

So I really don't care what reason a woman uses to get a abortion~~it's none of yours or my business why. It's up to her and her Dr. Just like me needing to having a rotator cuff surgery~~the only people in this should be myself, the Dr and my dh who has to be my grown up that day. Do I want the surgery, no, but do I need to have it if I want to continue to do my job and live a pain free life then YES.
