A word of caution about the new format..

When a thread ("discussion") starts getting long, and you want to reply to a post earlier in the thread, your response will be posted as usual in the outline view. *BUT* if you're using the numbers below the message to navigate, messages appear in the order they were posted. If this doesn't make sense yet, just wait and watch - you'll see.

So, it will be very helpful for coherence if you quote from the message you're replying to if you want to argue a point. Conveniently, when you post a reply, the original message shows up underneath the box you type in, so it's easy to cut & paste from the OP.

Also, you may have noticed you can't add a title to your reply - only new discussions can get titles. But the first line of all messages is displayed in the outline view. No doubt some people will be navigating mainly by the outline view - so make that first sentence count! =)

Just thought y'all might want to know!

Very good point. When the Cls were first introduced to this format I pointed out that it makes debate a bit difficult. This could be a good thing if you hated posts with 50+ replies under them ;)
