Bizarre pictures reveal the unlikely trend for photographs of breastfeeding mothers in Victorian-era America
Photographic portraits in the mid-1800s were typically formal affairs, with subjects posing stiffly in their Sunday best.
But a newly-released set of images reveal a more informal trend for new mothers to be captured nursing their infants.
