Commitment, or lack thereof...

So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.

Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

Well, I plan on investing in a bed rail actually. One of the ones made of mesh, so it shouldn't block air circulation or be really hard (ie like plastic ones) if s/he gets up against it.

With my previous 2, the bed was always on the floor so it was never a huge issue. I think Nyssa did fall out of bed once or twice around 4+ mos of age, but with a 10 inch drop it was hardly a huge hurt. She woke up and cried but was quickly consolled.

Well, it was the earlier of my 2! DD1 started STTN around 27 mos tho once the baby came that stopped again for a while and she didn't get good at it until 4.5 really. :-(

Nyssa STTN first around 17 mos but it was inconsistent to begin with and again, she was more like 4 before she stopped waking pretty much completely except for occasional illness.

How old is your child?

Also, I'm sorry, I can't remember if you chose to FF or if you had issues and could not BF. I'm going to assume the former. But you didn't know that formula wouldn't harm your child. And actually, you still don't know (and probably never will). It's about reducing risk. Risk does not always = harm.

I just tried to pay attention to see if I felt a letdown.

What do other people feel with letdown, out of curiousity?

In the early days, I had an aching that would go up into my neck w/ letdown.

So then you don't know if there has been any harm or not, yet.

I've never felt a letdown either. The only things I've ever noticed with letdown are my baby gulping and, during the first couple of weeks with a new baby, a little milk dripping from the other side.
