So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.

Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

Do you have any evidence that it is NOT risky, besides how you "feel" about it? Every major medical institution around the world acknowledges that formula is risky... what do you know that they don't?

"Comparing a person who drinks alcohol to a person who drinks formula is pretty much comparing alcohol to formula."

Read carefully.

Yes, there's quite a distinction between insanity manifested as post-partum psychosis and the more common "baby blues." In one case, mom needs medical intervention. In the other, she just needs time. In neither case is formula the recommended course of treatment, though I can certainly see how it's a temporary remedy. However, weaning a child is not addressing the issue. It's still going to pop up again until the root of the problem is discovered.
