Commitment, or lack thereof...

So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.

Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

If you happen to see me out in public mixing a bottle of formula, do you feel sorry for my DS (who is very close to your DS's age - 1/19/07 :))?

Regular formula was harmful to my child.

JMO but I would think it would most likely be safer b/c like it or not, your body will have changed SOME of the dairy proteins perhaps, and also, there are many other proteins going into making your milk (ie if you eat fish, pork, chicken, nuts, etc.). Whereas in formula *the* protein in it is either dairy based or soy based...no other choice really!

So in the case of a very severely allergic child, yes BM would be better than regular formula. Hypoallergenic could end up "better" if, like jigbean, the mom is not going to eliminate dairy and other allergens...at least in reducing exposure to the allergens and the subsequent eczema and other reactions.
