Commitment, or lack thereof...

So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.
Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

I think you misread my PPs.

<< Sure it might be, but this doesn't help them feel any better! How about pointing out some of the POSITIVES of FFing? >>
Actually I have posted many articles supportive to FFing and showing the positive side. Very seldom does a FF even seem to notice or comment. So I can`t see that it is truly of interest.
But why should it fall on the BFers to show this side? The FFers on the board could post this information as well, if it is important.

<< Since the majority of ladies oon this board are more for BFing than FFing, I think this would be pointless, which is why it has never been attempted. LOL >>
Since you are relatively new to the board, you wouldn`t know this, but actually the positives of FF have been posted and debated many times here in the past.

It matters whether it's b/f or after for a simple reason:

Sorry, I'm pretty new here, and haven't seen any of yours.

I realize you are new to the board, and I understand how overwhelming it can feel to a new-comer. If it is of interest to you, you can look back thru the old posts under the News File folder, just click on MORE at the bottom. Since I am more of an article poster than a debater, you will more often see my name there, on many of the posts.
I can certainly understand not wanting to be taken apart, piece by piece - and you are right, it does happen. But you asked why BFers don't post the positives, etc, and I often wonder why many of the FFers tell us to post stuff like that, when they could very easily do it themselves? There is no limit to what can be posted or by whom.

Very true :)
I understand what you mean about the conflicting info and not really knowing what to expect about BFing. We were lucky that we went to Bradley childbirth classes, which are very pro-BFing and have lots of info. Plus, they also recommend great books, and told us where to find the best info about BFing problems. Also, we were lucky to be surrounded by older women who had BFed. I do think sometimes your support group is the deciding factor in continuing BFing when the *going gets tough.*
