Commitment, or lack thereof...

So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.
Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

That's very true. Words can indeed be intended to wound. But just because someone takes offense to something does not mean that the "offender" was in the wrong. Innocuous statements have frequently been misinterpreted. A recent example: "Cow's milk is meant for baby cows" was read as "You're giving your child cattle feed." WTF???
Communication is a two-way street and both parties need to acknowledge responsibility. If a statement like "formula feeding is a substandard way of feeding an infant" is read as "Formula feeders are ," then I think the blame is best placed at the feet of the offended. If someone writes "I can't believe anyone would feed their child that !" in reference to formula, then they most certainly meant to offend.
Just so you know(' I'm sure somebody probably already mentioned this to you)

OK....I am so loling! I thought the exact same thing (except just hispanic support group). My SIL told me about LLL and I had no clue what it was and was so confused when I don't even speak spanish well! I wish I was kidding but I really had no clue!

""""I will never buy into the "make me feel bad" line. Feelings are something an individual must own--you can't MAKE someone FEEL bad, people do that on their own"""
Oh so true!! If you feel bad there is another underlying issue!!!!!
I must have stronger skin because I do not get uppity and yet I had an induced, medicated laced, child birth and one formula fed baby.
