Commitment, or lack thereof...

So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.

Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

>>Long car trips with kids alone is much easier with ffing (after about 5 months). I am constantly doing road trips with my kids and being able to hand a bottle back is much easier and makes the car trip much quicker than having to stop and nurse. <<

LOL. A friend and I decided that we needed some pump apparatus that could plug into the car/lighter. It would have been nice to feed and drive at the same time!

We went on a 14 hour road trip to Ohio over T-giving, and I thought it was super easy.

Nisu, you didn't have a car adaptor for your pump? http://www.medela.com/products/pump-accessories/357/12v-vehicle-lighter-adapter

I've pumped while a passenger in a moving car on several occasions.

My Ameda PY came with a car adapter. I never used it though (yet) but I have an day-long off site retreat in 2 weeks and where we're thinking of having it, I may need to go to my car to pump (I will NOT pump in a bathroom - talk about ICK factor).

"though a couple times I did lean over DD's seat (I was sitting in the back to entertain her) to feed her on the road (she stayed fully buckled in)."

Spencer, I had to chuckle over this one. I imagine a game of twister in your back seat!

Our last road trip was the one to CT and it took forever. The stops were a little more frequent than my pee stops (but not by much) and there was traffic thru NY but at that time Sarah took 30-40 min per nursing. It would be easier now as she's more efficient. So, it may have been faster to have given her a bottle and hooked up the pump to the cig lighter.

I'm sure if anyone noticed what was going on, they would have been quite puzzled to figure out what I was doing.

"Why is the OB giving a book that has so many inaccuracies in it?"

Well, if it is anything like the HMO my mom works for it's because they got them for free or next to free.

You apparently were a passenger while someone else was driving.

Once again - you were the passenger - I am usually the driver with no other adult in the car.
