So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.

Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

I don't know the exact origin of the LLL but I'm not sure it was mexican.

I'm sure google could tell me (I'm feeling very tired and lazy tonight ;-)) but I had in mind it was started in the USA. The women who started it just happened to choose a Spanish name for their project...and it stuck.

YK I hear about women who scream they can't do it anymore and that they're going to die and whatever. I never did that. Mind you I was too busy moaning loudly and screaming without saying words to think any of that... ;-)

If my labours had been as intense as they were over 4 days, I would surely have caved. Then again, maybe they were as intense as they were b/c of their general speed. I was in active labour, including delivery time (15-20 min. or so of pushing) for Nyssa for a total of 2 and 1/4 hours. :-P

Sandrine was 8.5 basically but first kids are much longer anyhow and that did include 2.5 hours of pushing which is again, relatively typical for a first. So I really was 6 hours of ctx. to get to 10 cm. then all that pushing. ;-)

I must have produced some strong "natural pit" (oxytocin) I guess since mine were right one on top of each other with no break sometimes for 15 min. at a time, near the end, with both of mine. It was a nightmare. I'd say I wanted to (for example) get out of the bath. And 15 min. later I'd be able to b/c the ctx. had finally died away. UGH.

Yes, I made as much noise as I wanted. And I was LOUD. ;-)

The m/w's encouraged it, saying to have open vocal cords and relaxed vocal cords would help open and relax my cervix. Whatever. ;-) I made noise and probably would have had they told me to shut up anyhow. ;-)

I don't want you to feel singled out at all here Keri, but cytotec (misoprostal) is a NASTY horrible drug to give to pg women. It has been singled out as the cause of uterine rupture in numerous cases, and yet is still used by ob/gyn's b/c it is *cheap*...bottom line=money.

:-(

It is a pgcy risk category X...completely contraindicated. And yet they still use it.

YK, the thought of going through labour again is the one thing that I just HATE about this baby. BTDT twice, I love the "euphroric drugged-out" feeling you get in the minutes afterwards but labour itself...UGH. I just don't want to do it again. I feel chicken. ;-) But...that said...it was probably at least 10x better if not more, than my colonoscopy I had at the age of 22 or so, and I was on morphine for the colonoscopy! ;-)

I guess I'll have to keep reminding myself of that when labour comes. :-/

OMG he almost killed your DD? If you don't mind, that sounds like an interesting (if horrifying...) story. If you do though, I understand. :-)

That's not it for me though! I love shopping. But I don't use 99% of the crap they sell either. ;-) I do look at some cribs and bedding and go "gee that's cute too bad I can't use it" ;-) but I just realize the baby could care less. The baby wants Mommy, not cute bedspreads and colourful strollers and Winnie the Pooh carseat covers. ;-) I do get cute outfits since I figure you do have to dress the little bugger eventually. ;-)
