Commitment, or lack thereof...

So I just saw something somewhere else (won't specify where, but I bet a few of you will figure it out!) where a woman indicated that she WAS planning on breastfeeding, but now because of a heated debate about it, she doesn't want to anymore.

Ummmmm, are you kidding me?

"I hate to break it to you, but that's AP ;)>>

Oh gosh! ::sound of bubble bursting:: "

Awww!

AP is the philosophy of meeting the child's needs instead of molding the child to the adult's needs.

Babywearing, bed-sharing et al are just *tools* to be used or not depending on the particular child and the needs of other family members.

I discovered Martinellis sparkling cider with pomegranate. Yummy!! I'll bring some of that to the party!

LOL Yep, I'll be 40 when this baby arrives, so definitely qualify! :-) (that's why the "young lady" tickled me so much... I've been feeling more like an "old lady" lately!) I'll definitely have to check out that board!

(I love your ticker! Ich habe auch ein suesses Kanninchen! :-D )

See you there!

The only thing I've found about ppd and uninterrupted sleep is that moms need 5 hours uninterrupted.

There is a HUGE difference between having a healthy baby who genuinely only cues to feed every four hours (a very rare beast IME) and imposing a four hour schedule on a baby. For MOST babies and mothers every four hours is nowhere near enough - a few mothers CAN produce enough milk (and not get horribles plugs and mastitis) nursing that rarely, a few babies CAN get enough food nursing that rarely but it would be very uncommon for a mother and baby pair to both be OK with it
