Do most FFing parents know powdered infant formulas are not commercially sterile products? How much of a risk is a E. sakazakii infection? Is it only a risk to premature and low-weight babies? According to the WHO article below, "infants under 2 months of age are at greatest risk."

Fio's example is a good one, though. We hug & kiss our children all the time (at least I hope so). A hug is a source of comfort to a young child. Once they are able to ask for a hug, then, should it be denied them because they are old enough to utilize other means of comfort?

I thought I had seen BSM mention other kids she knew who were nursed longer - not sure what thread that was. It was still a super tiny sample size from which to draw sweeping conclusions (nothing personal BSM, that's just how I see it and I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one :P).

What, and totally ignore the "A Clockwork Orange" reenactment you've hypothesized going on in the playroom or backyard?

Jane: "Why, Marge, I do believe this babka is the best you've ever baked! It goes perfectly with this French Vanilla coffee we're having".

Marge: "Oh, it looks like they must have figured out Billy's secret. I hope this means he'll finally get the hint and quit nursing. More babka?"

Sally: "I'm sure glad I quit nursing before my Tommy was able to start talking about it."

***Exactly. Children have to be taught how to ridicule and belittle one another for their foibles.***

Are you calling EN-ing a foible?

No. Are you? I'm saying that other children will consider *anything* to be something to pick on if they've been given the idea that it's worthy of it.

Thanks for the compliment, but I somehow missed out on the comedian part! Such a shame. I miss jokes all the time because I take things so literally. It gets me in trouble with dh and the kids too, lol. I can be lighthearted but it's more of an effort. I do want things to be fair, when I see an underdog in a debate I always want to help them out in some way. I can't help myself.
