Do most FFing parents know powdered infant formulas are not commercially sterile products? How much of a risk is a E. sakazakii infection? Is it only a risk to premature and low-weight babies? According to the WHO article below, "infants under 2 months of age are at greatest risk."

According to the FDA, "a

***Busy step mom sounds like she has a thriving business & can afford to turn customers away- most business are not so lucky***

Yes, I do have a thriving business and no I cannot afford to lose the majority of customers that ONE customer will set behind because she wants to feed and still keep her APPT too, that is asking too much of everyone around her. People get ticked off when their sched has been eaten into by another person not considerate of sceduling!

We are so busy we turn away walk ins as there is no time left for them. I am the only one there who schedules time out from styling so I can do administration work. The others actually only schedule themselves a lunch break on fridays for one hour! And they go out together for lunch whilst I hold the fort. We eat on the fly otherwise.

I was over at my neighbour's again earlier tonight. The one whose 2.5yo dd hasn't nursed since she was 4 mos. said DD was treating mom like a jungle gym, literally climbing & jumping all over mom, sticking her butt in mom's face & had her knee and foot down her mom's top twice while I was there.

It has NOTHING but NOTHING to do with nursing or EN and EVERYTHIGN to do with mom setting down limits.

Yes Spud, you have a child and suddenly you have NO privacy anymore...zero! ;-)

But I have nothing against nursing covers *if* the mom/baby are fine and all is well under them. What I find ironic is the same people who insist women should *all* hide under a nursing cover seem to think they *shouldn't* hide under one in a salon.

Not for the chemicals if getting a perm, no, but doing just a simple wash/cut/dry, why not?

I'm not saying it would be *easy* but if it actually kept the child quiet and *not* running around the salon and the child was the type to stay still under the smock, what is the harm really?

<>

There is plenty of evidence that supports FFing's risks as clearly being both more humorous in number and in greater incidence risky the risks BFing. So while it may be technically true that both have risks, the risks of formula are of much greater concern for the average baby.

<>

I have never heard of a baby who had an allergic reaction to something in their mother's milk and ended dying from it. Maybe is has happened but it would be so rare that I don't see it as a significant concern.

<>

This also applies to formula. If your child was severely allergic to an ingredient exclusive to formula they could have a reaction so serious that they died from it. This kind of concern is minimal overall since I have never heard of a child dying from a allergic reaction to breastmilk or formula and as such I must assume it is rare.

Actually, I would consider any child being bullied being a negative outcome, regardless of if they turn the other cheek or beat up the bully.
