Do most FFing parents know powdered infant formulas are not commercially sterile products? How much of a risk is a E. sakazakii infection? Is it only a risk to premature and low-weight babies? According to the WHO article below, "infants under 2 months of age are at greatest risk."

According to the FDA, "a

Main Entry:

1ego·cen·tric Listen to the pronunciation of 1egocentric

Pronunciation:

\ˌē-gō-ˈsen-trik also ˌeg-ō-\

Function:

adjective

1 : limited in outlook or concern to one's own activities or needs

2 : being self-centered or selfish

You're not calling a duck a duck. You're calling me self-centered or selfish in my thinking.

**ETA: I'd like to also point out that if someone were, in fact, to take that statement as an insult, he or she obviously has no idea what the word means. It is often confused with "egotistical," which has a very different connotation. Egotistical refers to someone who believes him or herself to be superior to others. Someone who is being egocentric is not necessarily also being egotistical. "Ego" is simply the latin root for "self."*

Then you might let the good people at Mirriam Webster know their definition includes one that is incorrect because the word "egocentric" can be used to insult. Not that you used it as one, but you might want to clarify.

** I have no idea whether she has been "provided" with it. I figured she had taken some time to learn about it on her own before forming such a strong opinion about it, especially given the exposure she claims to have IRL.**

I believe Harmony means here on the boards and it as an almost rhetorical question because there has been no proof provided other than anecdotal evidence which, as many of the breastfeeding side have stated or implied, is not actual fact.

I don't know who is that woman or what all women feel and think. I know it's not me tho, so don't take it too personal. You know how you think, I know how

I would put a lot of money on the fact that if I called anyone "egocentric", I would be RAVed and labeled "hateful" or "insulting". I did read past the name calling and clarified that just because I say I don't believe it can cause those feelings that I really think it's not so common. As I've said on more than one occasion, I know anything can happen.

So you're saying she shouldn't be "turned off" by ENing because the mother nursing isn't trying to offend her? I don't think that works. Anyone can be "turned off" by anything for their own reasons. Their reasons don't have to mesh with anyone elses. I also do not like to see ENing in pictures, videos, or real life and for my reasons that I don't have to discuss or "Ok" with anyone.

And by saying they aren't trying to impress anyone or put anyone out are you saying that EVERY mother than ENs is not trying to impress anyone or put anyone out because that's a sweeping generalization and sadly, there is probably at least one mom out there does it for show.
