Do most FFing parents know powdered infant formulas are not commercially sterile products? How much of a risk is a E. sakazakii infection? Is it only a risk to premature and low-weight babies? According to the WHO article below, "infants under 2 months of age are at greatest risk."

I don't know, I think a lot. At least as mother, those two (three) concepts are very closely related, just speaking for me personally. I think BSM is saying she just doesn't care about it, she can be happy and all woman without having bf'd long or EN'd. I care, I care a lot. I am still sad sometimes that I had to prematurely wean, especially right now for some strange reason!

I think it'd be really odd for someone to do it for show. If you are going to EN that's a big commitment to a lifestyle you aren't into "just" for the time here or there you can do it in front of someone - for what, for them to turn away or mumble under their breath? I don't think it's appealing as an exhibitionist activity. When I was EN, past 18 months we didn't nurse outside of the house very often, mostly it was when I got home from work, bedtime and middle of the night - not typically when someone is going to be watching.

Wow, a straw man and misleading vividness. Two logical fallacies in one sentence; score!

>>the type of woman who ever needed to define her femininity by having babies and breastfeeding them till they wean at whatever age. I had one, good enough for me, there's more to me than wanting to be an en-er, I do Feel I can own my body and like to have it back, so? I also was never the type of woman to define her worth by her husbands net worth either. I can not have the type of carreer I have and be tied down by nurslings, I would never want that and never will.<<
I guess I'm different than you after all, Harmony.
How so? She has not shown disrespect to anyone.
**Which is fine, but do that have to go on to declare something other people are doing to be "ick"?**
No one "has" to do anything including stifle their opinion. It may not show respect, but it doesn't show disrespect. It shows an opinion that we are free to disagree with. The implication I am getting from what you're saying is that if people don't agree with you or with what you do, then don't talk about it, and that is not showing that person respect.
**I don't see a lot of that going on.**
I agree. From either side.

Well, that's not the Thistle that I've come to know! The Thistle I know loves to welcome and to challenge differing opinions.

Ooh, I'd like that =). Actually, I wouldn't mind you saying that you don't agree with me, but I don't suggest calling me names that have a negative or insulting meaning.
