Do most FFing parents know powdered infant formulas are not commercially sterile products? How much of a risk is a E. sakazakii infection? Is it only a risk to premature and low-weight babies? According to the WHO article below, "infants under 2 months of age are at greatest risk."

A teacher is a psychologist as much as a pediatrician is a lactation specialist. In my opinion, of course.

We can know for absolute certain that she wasn't banned for those posts if they are still visible on the board. That's all Elissa was trying to get at.

See, when I talked to Fio about this, I got the feeling I was the only one not taking this seriously. I said I do not want to start with a daily dose of this and that. I forget and just do not want to be adding more worry then need be. Kylie gets out for at least two hours a day which I was being told was not enough on cloudy days. What do I really know though? I think my hatred of vitamins in pills goes back to my hating to take pills for my PPD and goes back to having to take those just to stay sane...:S

Glad I am not the only one who thinks enough fresh air and good food should do you! ;)

At least as mother, those two (three) concepts are very closely related, just speaking for me personally. I think BSM is saying she just doesn't care about it, she can be happy and all woman without having bf'd long or EN'd. I care, I care a lot. I am still sad sometimes that I had to prematurely wean, especially right now for some strange reason>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well maybe she'll give her answer as well;-0

Teachers may not be pyschologist, but they do take courses in child development so that they can recognize when a child is having a problem. Upon recognizing a problem, it is the teacher's responsibility to notify the parents and get the school counselors involved.

Nurses also are trained in child development and can also recognize developmental and psychological problems. They have the same responsibilities the teacher does.

Actually debate tournments, you are not told what side you will be on so you better be prepared to debate either. Then they might very well tell you to switch. Imagine actually if all breastfeeding advocates and all formula feeding supporters had to spend an entire day debating the other side...now there would be a thread for us all...think it might actually be fun...but where the heck would I be...formula feeder who supports breastfeeding...I could actually do both I think...

>>I thought I was never going to have a child and I hated hearing things like "Now that I'm a mother I'm finally a woman", stuff like that. For me, I felt sexy, feminine and all woman way before I gave birth. Getting pregnant, having my son, BF actually made me feel powerful.<<
