Be who you are and say what you feel because those  who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I think formula literature should be available-every mom has a right to know about feeding choices for her baby. If there is going to be bf'ing info available there should also be formula info next to it.

For what it's worth, I think it would be wrong to have just formula info available and not have bf info.

LOL Christine, I was just going to post the same thing...I have seen tons of baloney on his site. I would never, ever take anything on his site seriously.

I don't care if formula companies advertise..as long as they are not promoting it as better than BF.

Just a question Judi...what do you consider "promoting it as better than BF"? If a formula company says "we all know BF is best but this new formula is as close to BM as you can get without actually being BM and has more X in it than most mom's BM actually does"...does that get a "promoting it as better than BF" vote, or an "ok" vote in your books?

Just curious...

Ummm...are you asking me this? Or vwgirl? I believe it was her who made the comment about not promoting it as better than bm.

Oops!!! I did say Judi, but I realize that I read it backwards...for some reason I was a bit dyslexic I guess and thought that the post I was answering was you writing to her, not the otehr way around! LOL...so the question is for VW girl I guess. :-)

Sorry!

It's really hard to explain but he just bothers me...I don't like his theories about diet (similar to Atkins but much, much, much worse). He also publishes half truths and huge misconceptions on his website (you should read the crud about Canola oil). He promotes certain products and supplements (another sign of a "fad" diet). He just seems rather slimey to me. It's really just my personal opinion on the man though. I can't take anything he really says seriously. Others will have to make up their own minds by reading his website.

Sorry I can't explain it any better...gut feeling by reading his "pseudo-scientific" theories.

I NEVER said that formula companies promote it as "better", at least not now days. Formula ads I've seen say "breast is best...but "X BRAND" is next best". I don't have a problem with those ads at all.
