"As far as your sister's poor gut, that's pretty common nowadays without any genetic involvement."
Yeah.... about as common as, say, formula use....

Oh, sweetie, I'm not impressed one iota! I attended Oxford...a REAL university, not an American diploma mill that grants degrees to over-privileged intellectual wannabes with family legacies but no real scholarly talent.
I don't care about the DHA.
Of course you did.
"DH and his side of the family are very smart.

Don't you think formula use became just as common in the 1950s?
It was the first most important thing.
"Because I think that explains why most of the breastfeeding moms here think the way they do."
And, what way is that? The pattern of thought of "This is the biological standard of infant nutrition of which my child should be recieving?"
"Bf'ing will be the most important thing they do for their children, hands down"
Well, if they stop raising their kids and giving a darn as soon as the BF'ing relationship is over... I can see your point. Or, could it maybe be that they are only an infant once. And, for the FIRST year of life- first 6 months MINIMUM- their primary diet will be comprised of ONE thing and ONE THING only: Formula or Breastmilk. It is important to make sure that you do everything in your power to ensure your kids start off on the RIGHT path...
"you better believe formula can't hold a candle to breastfeeding"
And, it doesn't. Despite what people want to believe, or tell themselves, formula is substandard. Plain and simple. No amount of "Well, breast is best, but, formula's very good too!" to get those warm, fuzzy, "I'm a good Mommy!!!" feelings changes that.
"It allows them to justify bf'ing longer than the child needs bm and into years where it can be downright damaging."
Holy cow!!! Someone's breastfeeding their college student?! Cool!!!
