- Formula has risks that are unacceptable if breastmilk is available
- Formula has risks but it's OK to choose it if you understand the risks
- Formula has risks but it's OK to choose it even if you DONT understand the risks

I'm sad too... He's 17 months. He weaned about 5 months ago... I thought I mentioned that? He was going through a wicked nursing strike, and wanted sippy cups like Trey, and all the table food he could get his chubby little hands on... And, I was doing my best with the pump, trying to pump milk for both Eric and Trey... But, my best was not good enough. So, I allowed the strike to progress into full-fledged weaning. Actually, until 3 months ago, he *was* still occasionally night/nap nursing. Now, he just tries to bite my nipple off with those razor sharp teeth! That HUUUUUUUUUUUUURTS!
Oh well... I did better this time than I did last time. And, next time, I'll do even better still. I've got the knowledge, I've got the support... And, I've got the ability. So, I know next time I'll reach my goal. I wanted to go at least to 2 1/2 years w/ Eric. But... *shrug* I fell short.

Well, with a few exceptions. BFed babies are not at risk from anaphylactic reaction to formula. And very VERY few are liable to have anaphylactic reaction to something the mom's eaten that has come through her BM.

"What do you think?"
About Dh bonding? It wasn't really a problem for us, but I don't discount it when someone says it was an issue for them. Who am I to say it isn't? It is a highly individual issue and difficult, if not pointless, to debate.
"The peanut gallery may snicker all she wants, but she isn't providing any evidence to back sehorse's outrageous claims up either, so what does that tell ya?
"But I digress, really though it is not fair to put down these schools because of one poster (or president for that matter)."
You're right.

So do you think men were less well bonded to their children prior to the invention of formula?
"You all know that I think the "risks" of formula are overblown and mostly imaginary/theoretical so there is no point

Because I think that explains why most of the breastfeeding moms here think the way they do.
