Recently, while on one of the other boards on iVillage, I caught an Enfamil ad.

"Is it false advertising for Enfamil to use a statement like that in regards to their formula?

I totally think it is misleading * in direct response to how many moms will say "BM changes from moment to monet, day to day to be exactly what your infant needs while formula is the same on day one as it ison day 365."

I think it probably would not qualify as legally misleading but it certainly is for all intents and purpose misleading even if it technically does not cross the line legally. If charges of false advertising where ever brought against them they could argue that it's tailored to an infants needs a close as possible with current formula science while many people will interpret it as saying it's tailored to meet all an infants needs which is currently impossible.

I think all the ads like that need to be gathered up and some big truth in advertising lawsuit needs to be filed against them.

Charleen - do you think what they say is the truth? Is it backed up by evidence that formula is tailored to a specific infants needs? I don't think the advertising said it was tailored to an infants needs as close as possible, I thought the OP said the ad read "tailored to HER needs." As in specifically tailored to your baby. Ads are not supposed to be misleading. Do you think that one is, and if so, doesn't that cross the line legally?
