I Formula Feed

I chose to formula feed my daughter. I love her with all my heart, and am a great mother (contray to what other mothers will say because I didn't BF). I gave my daughter the best 9 months of my life when pregnant...eating healthy, excerising, quit smoking, quit drinking, yada yada yada and I give her everything in this world now but yes I was selfish and formula fed and do not regret one second of it. I'm sorry that my husband, mother, sister can help with feedings and make a bottle themselves... I can go out for a night and not worry about having a glass of wine or I can go to the mall and not have to whip my boob out in the middle of the common area. And my daughter is extemely healthy and happy. I don't think Im going to hell because I formula feed nor do I feel I am a bad parent. My husband and I agreed formula was the way to go for us. I'm sure there are plenty of things BF'ing mothers do that other parents wouldn't agree with but that doesnt mean you should be crucified for it. I think other mothers should get off their high horse about bf'ing and realize its just not for everyone and you're not

You can't have it both ways.
To me BF is something that I couldn't do period!
No BFing is something that you made a choice not to do-you didn't even try.

My response to that is lack of exercise and poor diet is a much more likely cause to these problems then being FF as an infant.
I agree with this. However, there is no other time in your life that you double your body weight. Your brain gets 75% of its growth the first year of life. A lot of medical experts would say including the AAP as a whole and the WHO the first year of life is probably the most critical.
Also, when I was kid, nobody BF'd until they were 2, 3 or 8 years old. We were expected to be weaned and learn how to drink milk out of a cup. I think society has gone insane with all this "protect the kids" stuff, and kids aren't learning to do anything on their own anymore.
I did not wean the twins till they were 3.5 years. However they learned to drink from a cup before they were one and use

I think IQ has more to do with genetics overall. DH and I were both ffed and we are smart people. DH has a Phd. Breastmilk research in re: to IQ is - it will boost it 8 points. Not a huge number. My twins that were bfed and supplemented formula are in the GT center @ their school. They scored 132 on the NNAT. Maybe if I ffed them they would have scored 125 which is still good but not enough to get them in the center. Their IQ is Highly Superior instead of Superior. My exclusively breastfed child started reading at the age of 2.75. I have not had her tested but I have a feeling she may be on the profoundly gifted side. DH and I have Superior IQs the twins have Highly Superior and my 3 yo could be part of the mensa society.
"Breastmilk research in re: to IQ is - it will boost it 8 points."
Actually, breast milk will help put the IQ at that person's biological potential.
Formula would *lower* it 8 points.
Breast milk is the standard, not a "booster" or "offers benefits".
