I Formula Feed

I chose to formula feed my daughter. I love her with all my heart, and am a great mother (contray to what other mothers will say because I didn't BF). I gave my daughter the best 9 months of my life when pregnant...eating healthy, excerising, quit smoking, quit drinking, yada yada yada and I give her everything in this world now but yes I was selfish and formula fed and do not regret one second of it. I'm sorry that my husband, mother, sister can help with feedings and make a bottle themselves... I can go out for a night and not worry about having a glass of wine or I can go to the mall and not have to whip my boob out in the middle of the common area. And my daughter is extemely healthy and happy. I don't think Im going to hell because I formula feed nor do I feel I am a bad parent. My husband and I agreed formula was the way to go for us. I'm sure there are plenty of things BF'ing mothers do that other parents wouldn't agree with but that doesnt mean you should be crucified for it. I think other mothers should get off their high horse about bf'ing and realize its just not for everyone and you're not

Yeah but probably not for long. I *should* have been in bed an hour ago really (or more ;-)) and I have to be back up around 8 tomorrow morning...but whatever. :-)

"I don't agree with that. My dd was 100% an accident, and trust me, there was nothing selfish about my choice to have her."

I don't mean the decision not to have an abortion, or the decision to continue a pregnancy. I mean the decision one makes one day to have children at all- to actively want children enough to intentionally create them.

I'm sorry but it's possible this entire mess is my fault. Sometime several months ago I posted something (with the aim of sparking an interesting conversation) stating that if I couldn't breastfeed AND was likely to pass on a tendency towards something like breast cancer I personally might not have any more biological children because I felt it wasn't fair to knowingly pass on the double whammy of not breastfed and having a cancer gene.

I am extremely sorry for my musings.

"The thing I always find interesting when people talk about how we all survived back then - is that they conveniently forget about the children that didn't. "

I'm glad you mentioned this.

ITA. My reasons for thinking it would be great is for children whom have moms that choose not to breastfeed, adopted babies, babies of moms whom could never breastfeed..... Nothing could ever replace the actual act. I would certainly still breastfeed even if there was a product that replicated breastmilk. There never will be in a million years.
