I Formula Feed

I chose to formula feed my daughter. I love her with all my heart, and am a great mother (contray to what other mothers will say because I didn't BF). I gave my daughter the best 9 months of my life when pregnant...eating healthy, excerising, quit smoking, quit drinking, yada yada yada and I give her everything in this world now but yes I was selfish and formula fed and do not regret one second of it. I'm sorry that my husband, mother, sister can help with feedings and make a bottle themselves... I can go out for a night and not worry about having a glass of wine or I can go to the mall and not have to whip my boob out in the middle of the common area. And my daughter is extemely healthy and happy. I don't think Im going to hell because I formula feed nor do I feel I am a bad parent. My husband and I agreed formula was the way to go for us. I'm sure there are plenty of things BF'ing mothers do that other parents wouldn't agree with but that doesnt mean you should be crucified for it. I think other mothers should get off their high horse about bf'ing and realize its just not for everyone and you're not

"It is just hard to think of it as the standard when only about 10% nurse their babies to the first year mark."
*
And when practically *everyone* says "Breast is best" which *implies* the "extra", the "booster", the "above standard".

Which is why I make a point of pointing it out. ^_^

Doing my bit to help shift a paradigm!

I mean, since my child has never ingested formula, it can't harm her. It's the only guarantee I can think of as it relates to the f v. bm debate. It's often brought up that bm doesn't offer "any guarantees." I'm acknowledging that fact but going on to state that at least I have the knowledge that she won't be affected by formula. It's hardly a "guarantee" of anything, but it's my counter to the "your child is not protected for life b/c she was breastfed" argument.

Re restless legs, have you tried jumping jacks? Seriously, 12 - 15 jumping jacks seem to calm my restless legs enough to let me sleep.

Zanaflex works even better, but isn't recommended for long term use. ^_^

You're welcome! You could definitely do this with formula if you wanted to. I'm sure it would freeze well. My son loved his milk pops! :O)

I can only imagine how it must make you feel. I don't understand it either. There really are people who physically CANNOT nurse, and I think it degrades and belittles their experiences and their frustrations when someone who is perfectly capable chooses not to, and then plays the "I just couldn't make myself do it" card. I understand that there can be emotional/mental aversions to doing it, but that isn't the same thing as being unable to because you don't have breasts, or because your breasts are underdeveloped, or your milk never appeared, etc.

There's a reason bike helmets are mandatory in most provinces and perhaps states

I WISH it were here.

Shari,

To my knowledge nobody has called you a liar. I don't think anyone thinks you are lying, per se, just remembering something a little differently than maybe what was said to you. That's why you're being asked to look, so that you can see for yourself.
