I Formula Feed

I chose to formula feed my daughter. I love her with all my heart, and am a great mother (contray to what other mothers will say because I didn't BF). I gave my daughter the best 9 months of my life when pregnant...eating healthy, excerising, quit smoking, quit drinking, yada yada yada and I give her everything in this world now but yes I was selfish and formula fed and do not regret one second of it. I'm sorry that my husband, mother, sister can help with feedings and make a bottle themselves... I can go out for a night and not worry about having a glass of wine or I can go to the mall and not have to whip my boob out in the middle of the common area. And my daughter is extemely healthy and happy. I don't think Im going to hell because I formula feed nor do I feel I am a bad parent. My husband and I agreed formula was the way to go for us. I'm sure there are plenty of things BF'ing mothers do that other parents wouldn't agree with but that doesnt mean you should be crucified for it. I think other mothers should get off their high horse about bf'ing and realize its just not for everyone and you're not

I'm going to ask again, because you seem to be ignoring me...

Are you really blaming all of that on the fact that your mother BF you?

Could you please clarify a few things for me.

Do you think breastfeeding CAUSED your poor health? If so what was it specifically about breastfeeding that had such a terrible effect on you?

Do you believe you would have been healthier had you been exclusively formula fed? If so what property of formula do you think would have benefited you?

I am terribly sorry for your ill-health but I do not require you to further list your ailments - I think we all know WHAT you are dealing with but I would love to know what caused or contributed to this sorry state of affairs.

Science is prone to change because even science can't overide Mother Nature.

***I was under the impression that breastfeeding tends to reduce the likelyhood and severity of things like ear infections but I am always open to new information***

Well obviously starting with my first ear infection at 2 weeks of age that "impression" is/was wrong.>>>

You are really missing the point. She didn't say " I was under the impression that breastfeeding ELIMINATED ear infections". Just that it reduced the likelihood and severity. Meaning, that while you had 2 a month for the first three years of your life - if you had been FF, the chances are you would have had at least twice that, for twice the amount of time.

Do you realize the statement you just made? Science can't override MOther Nature. Meaning, scientifically produced artificial, imitation formula can't override mother's milk.

And as you keep telling me...show me proof, that pertains to me...not someone else...not "studies", not statistics.>>>

Define proof, please. In debate, proof is generally considered exactly what you are asking us NOT to give you. Your definition of proof seems to be rather skewed, unless you could clarify what exactly you mean.

Holly, correct me if I am wrong here - but I remember learning that IQ tests aren't really valid after a certain age at all. I thought once we hit some age (maybe teenagers?) that it doesn't really apply. I know you said that already - I am just wondering - if an adult were to take an IQ test, is it even valid? I mean, you can manipulate them!
