Is there anywhere you feel it is completely inappropriate to nurse in public?

there's really nothing pro-breastfeeding at all about the expectation that it should only be done away from other people. that's kind of like "hmm..i'm really okay that you're gay, but please don't ever introduce me to your partner."

Just so you know we do have a nursing room at church now that was with my last baby, but it was like a lounge area in the bathroom it's not like I was sitting on the toilet and I have no issue with feeding my babies there. Our nusery wing was being reovated at the time. The only problam I had was when he got a little older(4+ months and the noise of women talking would distract him) I did it because it's what I wanted not because anyone forced me to. Most of us just nurse in the crib(infant nursery) room now so we can chat with whoever is working in there.

I will absolutely not nurse in the service because I'm not comfortable with it. I do nurs just about everywhere else in public that I go.

If something is suppose to be refrigerated I take it straight from the refrigerator & serve >>>

but ebm is NOT meant to be refrigerated. it "comes from the source" at the right temperature -- somewhere around 98.6 degrees.

if its going to be saved for use later -- say a mom pumpimg at work to bring home for a baby to use the next day that would be when refrigeration (or freezing) would come into play. i never use ebm anymore, and have only done a few times with dd so i forget -- i'd need to check laleche, but i think its good at room temperature for hours...maybe 8? mampalooza would know....

It is impossible not to touch a bf baby. That is not true with ff infants, since a mom has the option of not even holding the baby to feed. I am not assuming that all bf mothers have better bonds with their infants, btw.~Lisa

It gets worse when they're older and if you have to fly alone!! At least when I fly with dh, I know that *he's* next to me and not some stranger. When dd was one she was much more wiggley and much more prone to de-latch and look around so it was incredibly nerve wracking to fly alone. The only bright spot in flying alone is the occassional great looking guy who feels sorry for you and helps with your carseat, bag, stroller, etc. LOL!!

i agree that birth is amazing to see and i wish i had video (and pics for that matter), dh and i were too lost in the moment both times. however, i was SO surprised you were consiering putting them up....all i could think was wait, she's not sure where to look when speaking to a bf mommmy, but is ready to post such pics...i know they are totally different things, but i think the birth thing IS REALLY intimate while bfip is practical. if birth were as practical our kids would just slip out when we said so....

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one! My dh's parents/relatives are from the same area. I don't know about you, but my brazen dh has made all the difference in our bfip experiences. I always feel like I have an ally as well as someone to keep me company on the couch.
