Is there anywhere you feel it is completely inappropriate to nurse in public?

It's not legal in AZ. There was a health food store that was selling it under the guise of "for your pet", but the health authorities caught on and put a stop to it.

I read of one story about a dairy farmer in Indiana that would sell "shares" of a cow to people. It is legal to drink raw milk if it is from your cow. These people would pay $10 (or similar) for a share and then when they picked up their milk, pay a small amount for "boarding and feed". I think the authorities wanted to stop it, not sure if they were able to.

EEwwww! My Dad was raised on a dairy farm & hated to drink milk that was brought in from their own cows. He said he preferred it from the grocery (which his mother apparently did buy because otherwise he wouldn't drink milk at all). My aunt & uncle have been dairy farmers for years & I would always take my coffee without cream when I go to their house because I couldn't stand the thought of putting it into my coffee, blech! I just tried not to think about it when I had biscuits and gravy there ha!

I've never tasted raw milk, but I would like to try it. I have bought organic, cream top milk (non-homgenized). It makes really great chocolate milk!

What I really would like to be able to buy is fruit juice that still has all the nutrients in it. Juicing your own is so time consuming. But they have to pasteurize the fruit juice in order to sell it. I'm hoping they come up with a different way to kill the bacteria, yet still keep the nutrients.

I've been buying that Simply Orange. I prefer it over the other.

I don't disagree that it could *enhance* bonding. I believe lots of things can enhance bonding, including cuddling, touching, cooing, eye contact, singing, etc while bottle feeding. The poster said she believed BF'rs bond at a "different level" than FF'rs . That is what I strongly disagree with. It's a general, blanket statment which has no merit. Mothers who FF can get plenty of skin contact while feeding. The only difference is a mouth on a nipple, other than that it's the same position. And if one or two bottles a day is not given while holding the baby close, there are so many other times in the day to get contact and interaction. A woman could BF her child and not interact with him at all at other times of the day...her bond would clearly not be "higher" than a loving, nuturing FF'ing mom. Some BF'rs may bond at a higher level than some FF'rs and vice-versa. And the reasons for such may have nothing at all to do with breast or bottle since there are so many aspects to bonding.

I said it was my opinion that the poster had insecurity issues. I should be able to express that on a board such as this, just as you shouldn't hold back on expressing your opinion. That's why we're here.

Okay, I am curious. Why is it necessary to say the SUV instead of just saying your vehicle? This is like the fifth time you mentioned your SUV. Is this a regional thing or something? I have an SUV but I don't usually mention it. Just wondering.~Lisa

I'm just guessing but maybe because it's quicker to type than vehicle? Just calling it "my car" would be just as quick but technically innaccurate...it's like people with minivans usually refer to it as "the van" or "the minivan"...SUV is the fastest and most accurate way to describe a vehicle of that genere. Though you did make me think...I drive a station wagon...I'm not really sure how I've refered to it but I think I just call it "my car". I know for sure though that DH calls it "the wagon"!

I say "wagon" only when I need to differentiate it from a standard car for some reason.

My husband & I just refer to it as that to distinguish between we are talking about it & the car. Sorry. It is just a case of "that is what I say when we talk, so I say it when I talk here or anywhere". Using the word vehichle never comes to mind ha~! Maybe it is a regional thing. I hear other people use it slangily.
