use formula after baby reaches 12 months. Why is that? Is it just personal preference or are peds. now recommending formula use longer? I'm just being nosey.

I believe formula is a great source of nutrition and the longer I can keep our baby on it....the better it is. W/our first DS we used it well into the 14mo. and w/this one I know I'll use it that long....perhaps longer (plus it will be easy next summer at Disney WOrld....LOL but that really isn't *my* reason!!!! I just thought about as I'm making plans for next summer's reservations LOL)

Our pediatrician said we could go to cow's milk only if we desired to begin after the 9 mo. visit...I was against that. Of course it is standard that after the year birthday you can change to cow's milk (whole). I opted on my own accord to stick w/the formula as I'm planning to do this time.

Not a nosey question at all :o)

I'm curious too. As far as I know there is no reason why it continues to be necessary... and it's several times the cost of buying regular milk...

Don't know, I always stopped at around 12 months. And I will this time too. My almost 9 months old is already eating a lot of real food, and I will also stop the bottles at 12 months and switch to cups.
