NIP Article - reader's comments

Here's an seemingly innocent article on a nurse-in at an Applebees. However, if you read the reader comments...boy oh boy! Talk about some ignorant remarks. One of them even equated NIP to smoking! Unbelievable. I thought it would be a good thing to discuss on here, especially since our resident FF/anti-NIP'ers are feeling underrepresented.

BF'ers, be prepared to be astounded.

True! My brother adopted an abandoned kitten, and this cat would knead and root in your general chest area and leave a huuuuuge wet spot (ewwww). He eventually just ran away despite being treated well.
That's exactly how mine was. I loved him, and I've never met another cat like him. He never scratched us (even when we would dress him up and put him in our doll stroller!). I had to keep all stuffed animals away from him, as those were his favorite things to suck on!

Well, I don't think Ewok was truly weaned "too early" b/c Raven did (reluctantly) nurse her to about 12 weeks.

Mary,
I love the "just fine" stement because Fox is the same way.
Not much of a debate today if we're all talking about our cats!
I love Davey, but he's a little wacky.

I never had a cat, so I can't relate. :P
Our dog was taken away from his mother too early, and was already the runt of the litter. He would suck on anything he could find as a puppy (i.e., my hand, pillow, dog bed, blanket, etc.). We got him a few years before we became "real" parents, and I was so attached to him, maybe because he seemed so needy. It was when I had an extremely vivid dream about offering him a pacifier that I realized maybe I needed more than furbabies in my life...LOL.
