Posting photos of nursing babies online

On another board, a poster has a long siggy that includes a slideshow of nursing babies from her playgroup. Another poster took offense at it and there has been quite the debate over the appropriateness of the siggy. I posted a message inviting people here to discuss that issue, and I hope that one of the posters from that particular playgroup comes here, at least so we can see what the siggy looks like. I'm having a hard time forming coherent thoughts today, LOL! So don't worry if I don't come back to debate the issue with you, I'm trying to get out of the office so I can go home & sleep.

As "Linda Richmond" (aka Mike Myers) from SNL would say, "talk amongst yourselves."

I don't see why your judgement of the reasons given is really relevant here, do you ?

I was asking you to explain why you felt that way, I wasn't telling you not to think it. On that other board, we call it "debate". I gathered from the "aesthetically pleasing" comment, in it's original context, that they were speaking of the blinky in it's entirety, not the pleasing-ness of the boobs contained within. I guess that one could go either way. But the other two, I just don't get it, and so far you've given me "I think it because I do."

Wow, how did you translate "I will take care of the immediate needs of my child even if anonymous person A disapproves" to mean that Jennifer goes though life with her middle finger prominently displayed?

<>

Where is this lack of respect that is so widespread? I rarely see women NIP, and I've absolutely never seen anyone nursing in a way that could be construed as disrespectful.

Yes, hence my asking for them twice.

<<>>

I don't even know the reasons, beyond "boobs are gross", which is quite purile.

<<>>

Again, reasons have yet to be provided, so I can't agree with you here either.

Why do you keep trying to make this personal? Why do you keep asking me questions if you're going to be rude if I dare to answer them? I don't think I have issues, I think people who don't give a rat's patootie about anyone but themselves have issues, hence the problem.

Touche! Here's why I "feel this way":

<<<""NMSA 1978, Section 28-20-1 (1999) makes it legal for a mother to "breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be present.">>>

http://www.breastfeedingnewmexico.org/law_page.html

I'm very fortunate in that, where I live, I don't *have* to care what others think. Some women and their babies are not so lucky.

<<>>

Nope, more like "I think it because I CAN and WILL", regardless of what others desire.

I'm for awareness of testicular cancer. I'm sure many would be offended if I posted a photo.
