Posting photos of nursing babies online

On another board, a poster has a long siggy that includes a slideshow of nursing babies from her playgroup. Another poster took offense at it and there has been quite the debate over the appropriateness of the siggy. I posted a message inviting people here to discuss that issue, and I hope that one of the posters from that particular playgroup comes here, at least so we can see what the siggy looks like. I'm having a hard time forming coherent thoughts today, LOL! So don't worry if I don't come back to debate the issue with you, I'm trying to get out of the office so I can go home & sleep.
As "Linda Richmond" (aka Mike Myers) from SNL would say, "talk amongst yourselves."

Is the siggie picture about the boob or the baby? A scrotum doesn't really do much...

Your words: <<<>>>
My words: <<>>Wow, how did you translate "I will take care of the immediate needs of my child even if anonymous person A disapproves" to mean that Jennifer goes though life with her middle finger prominently displayed?>><<
Where I come from, flipping someone the bird is the same as "f you." Is this just a Midwestern thing? Whether it comes from the lips or as a gesture, it pretty much means the same thing. And as I said above, it's an awful big leap to think that a woman who puts her young child's needs and desires above the discomfort of a presumably mature stranger is at all analogous to going through life with an "f everyone" attitude. I would call it being a good mom.

Oh good! Then maybe you can explain *why* this siggy is disrespectful? I look at it and see beautiful babies engaged in a beautiful bonding experience with the most important person in the world to them. It reminds me of my own nursing days and celebrates this unique relationship. I don't feel disrespected at all.
Babies need to eat and formula feeds them. No fuss no muss and no problems.
Breastfeeding is about SOOOOO much more than that...
And it is fuss and muss.
Then again, I am still in shock that people put pictures of their children on here. Eeeek
Well, you do have a point about that!!
No, it originated on the SAH/WOH debate board. They closed it because apparently we can only talk about boobs here.
Thanx for bringing me up to speed!
