Posting photos of nursing babies online

On another board, a poster has a long siggy that includes a slideshow of nursing babies from her playgroup. Another poster took offense at it and there has been quite the debate over the appropriateness of the siggy. I posted a message inviting people here to discuss that issue, and I hope that one of the posters from that particular playgroup comes here, at least so we can see what the siggy looks like. I'm having a hard time forming coherent thoughts today, LOL! So don't worry if I don't come back to debate the issue with you, I'm trying to get out of the office so I can go home & sleep.

As "Linda Richmond" (aka Mike Myers) from SNL would say, "talk amongst yourselves."

I fed both of my children "the second best nutrition" and I'm not bitter ... should I be?

I don't think it's extreme. They have admitted as much; the point of the siggy is to promote breastfeeding and to challenge the taboo.

The way I see it, common sense would lead mothers to NOT bf. Bf is oftentimes socially unacceptable, it is bothersome, it is difficult to learn, it is saturated in politics and it is battle #1 in the Mommy Wars. Common sense(among other things)

Yes I do think it is appropriate and I have done it myself. My family flew on Northwest Airlines when my baby was only 3 months old. I was still breastfeeding him and I nursed him on the plane and the entire top half of my breast was exposed. Obviously the nipple and areola were in my son's mouth and the bottom half of my breast was covered by my son's head. You know what, on a crowded plane with airline attendants walking up and down the aisles, no one said anything to me about nursing my son. That's the way it should be.
See, that's the whole reason why some women find it so frustrating to nurse in public. Because there are so many people who say 'nursing is fine but don't show too much breast'. To me, that's being a hypocrite. There is absolutely nothing wrong with nursing a baby NO MATTER HOW MUCH BREAST IS SHOWING! I just wish that society could get this through their thick skulls so that we can be done with this issue.

Nope. No bitterness, guilt, anger, jealousy or resentment here. Guess I'm not doing my part as a FFer.

See, you say this.
