OK, I don't think anyone really denies that it is ultimately every mom's decision.

"No, i didn't - i was referring to swapping chores for feeding - i don't know how many times i need to say that."

I can re-post you initial statement if you really want me to (again), but you did say that you would have to quit work and sit around all day bfing while he works and does all the housework.

""""You have asserted numerous times that the risks of ffing only matter to those who are at risk for things.""

No, i was referring to someone at risk for heart attack, and making changes to their lifestyle for that reason. That was where this stemmed from - the post i was replying to.

"""Do you now see that a healthy diet (bfing included) is important to everyone, not just those at risk for things?

No, I am saying that is seems like - if a baby or child gets sick and they were FF - then lets blame the F
If BF baby gets same illness - then in that case it must be some other underlying factor.

It is the lack of certain ingredients that make babies more suseptable to illnesses. FF does not cause the EI, Rotavirus..... It is the lack of ingredients that are found in breastmilk to prevent the illness. Breast milk contains live white blood cells. When a baby gets a bug and suckles on the breast it sends a message to the cells to produce and fight off the illness. That is why direct nursing is better than expressed breastmilk. The milk is fresh and all the white blood cells are alive and fighting the bad cells in your baby's body. If you express milk the fresher the better because the longer the milk sits in the fridge the cells start to die and there is not as much benefit. When I went back to work I would always pump a bottle and set it on the night stand for dh to feed Erin with. We always used the freshest milk first. Breastmilk can actually stand w/o refridgeration for 6 hours.

If a breastfed baby gets sick the breastmilk is the best medicine for a quick recovery. It is tailor made to fight of their infection. It is basic Biology.
