OK, I don't think anyone really denies that it is ultimately every mom's decision.

Thanks for trying to clear up my quotes to Emila and looking up the back-posts...this thread is so long I don't really remember what I said where, or what started half of it. And I am too lazy to go back and re-read everything that has been said!

Emila: I am sorry for starting the whole *resentment* thing. I don't remember how that conversation even began, however I do have some friends with really ridiculous husbands/partners that would resent my friends for BFing, and would assume that all they did was "sit around and BF" all day. So, when I said that, I was being a little facetious. Some men really don't get how hard it is to take care of a child, even when they have them, KWIM??? From your posts, I can tell that your husband probably isn't like that, but from your protests about how equal everything must be all the time, I thought maybe you were a little afraid that your husband would *maybe* be one of those men who wouldn't think it was fair to him, if you BFed. That is just the feeling I got from some of your earlier posts. I am glad to be wrong. Maybe now this whole discussion can die in peace!!!

Absolutely no reason to be sorry! I completely understood why you asked that! I too IRL know many husbands who may "resent" (so to say) their s/o for wanting to (not just BF) but SAH in general! I don't think many men realize what a FT job it is to SAH with a child!! as you said too!

I am lucky to have a DH who is so active in the baby and my olders life and to be so active in the housework as well! But he fact that he does have alone time with the kids, and just the baby sometimes gives him the chance to see what it takes!! lol It seems many of the posters here have great DH/SO as well!

But again no need to be sorry, I just wanted to clear things up - cause my response to your question got so thrown out of whack!! but that is message boards for you... lol

>>So, a diet comprised entirely of substances containing corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils is, what? Good? Hmmmmm...... I guess Mickey D's isn't half bad then. <<

OK...this is why some people may refer to you in the negative way as militant. You just labeled what I give my daughter as nutritionally sound as McDonald's....Please do not back pedal, as we can all tell that you were referring to formula. I take this rather personally, as it is not the truth. I really would like you to present a study that says that Formula has the same nutritional value as McDonalds.

And in them doing so, their posts get removed for violating TOS, gee... funny that...

"You just labeled what I give my daughter as nutritionally sound as McDonald's.."

What I said was:

"So, a diet comprised entirely of substances containing corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils is, what? Good? Hmmmmm...... I guess Mickey D's isn't half bad then. "

You disagree?

While I was in the process of finding links that said that formula is actually better than Karo+evap milk, it appears that it isn't being debated. So here are the interesting links I found, anyway.

Apparently, prior to 1980, some manufacturer of infant formula decided to omit salt (NaCl), a whole lot of babies got very sick, so the legislature (Al Gore included) created the Infant Formula Act of 1980, with an addendum in 1986, ensuring that no manufacturer could make major changes away from the ingredients that are already known to prevent serious injury to infants.

"There is not enough hard evidence out there stating the opposite, for me to draw the conclusion that just b/c babies are FF, they are in some way mentally and physically inferior to babies who are BF.
