>>But McD's can sustain life the way formula can. You don't have to eat nothing but bigmacs and fries ya know. They do have salads and fruit. McD's is substandard, but you could be kept alive, and reasonably healthy...<<

I disagree...have you seen supersize me. Living off mcdonalds alone....so not adequate for sustaining life! What I meant by fine for the people that I know who live off formula is that all of their levels are in the normal range. I am not a doctor nor do a play one on TV, but I read their reports and nutritionally not one person I work with is lacking any nutrients in their nutritional lab work.

Yes, I believe some pure common courtesies and tact would go a very long way in getting someone opposed to your views to hear you out.

"I think a fair comparison between bm and formula would be more of bm being a meal with all organic food containing all of the food groups and everything is cooked up fresh, where formula would be non-organic food containing all of the food groups, but a couple of the side dishes are processed and microwaved. Both are still providing adequate nutrition and vitamins, however one exceeds the other"

The difference is that the "supersize me" type experiments have all involved a single person which means that, while interesting, there is a limit to the usable information we can get from them. In many of the breastfeeding studies there are hundreds or even, occasionally, thousands of participants which makes it easier for those "minor differences" to be accounted for.
