OK, I don't think anyone really denies that it is ultimately every mom's decision.

(you would be better off getting a hamburger/small fry than a grilled chicken salad w/ dressing!!!!)
Well, that's why I never use any dressing! I know I'm a freak!!!

I never use it either. Whenever I make a salad or go to the salad bar in the grocery store, I use cottage cheese on top, instead of dressing!
(wierd? - it is so good though lol)
>>And lots of the unhealthy stuff in the water will get into mom's blood stream and be passed on to baby, I would think. Would it be at the same levels as FF babies? I really have no idea. <<
I look at it this way, any water source may be contaminated but all public water sources are free from known toxins. The water that the BF mom drinks is the same water that the formula manufacturers use to prepare the formula at the plant, which is the same water that the FF mom adds to her powdered formula. Sure the water at any point can be additionally filtered (including the BF mom's), so the FF infant is exposed to water contaminants at the same rate as BF infants, but the BF infant's water has been additionally "filtered" by the mom's body.
Unfortunately, while water soluble toxins may well be "filtered," fat soluble ones tend to concentrate in fatty tissues.

And when mom makes milk, a lot of the toxins are released and end up in the breast tissue, so some of these toxins are actually in *higher* concentrations in breast milk than they

My dad doesn't either. He'll eat a pre-dressed salad if my mom makes one for "the whole family" which she does sometimes, but on his own, he usually takes it plain, though SOMTIMES he'll add a very tiny drizzle of EVOO and balsamic vinegar.
I wonder in the hamburger caloric content values...do they include all the condiments? Or are you adding lots of calories for the ketchup, mayonnaise, etc.

I love mexican salads with guacamole, sour cream (just a little ;-)) and salsa. Of course these still have calories (so does cottage cheese) but at least they also have more nutritional value than some salad dressings. avocado to make guacamole is a great, if high fat, food (good quality fat), salsa is full of lycopene and such...etc. :-) Sour cream, not so great but in a small quantity...meh. ;-)

Actuall, Emila was the one talking about the hamburgers. I for one, don't ever eat hamburgers from fast-food establishments (or any restaurant for that matter) because I read the book "Fast Food Nation," and I am now paranoid of getting e. coli! Seriously, that book will gross you out!!! When I do eat hamburgers though, I never put anything on them...again, I am just a weirdo like that!

I tend to eat more chicken burgers these days (salmonella I guess ;-)) b/c of the whole mad cow thing. I buy bison patties and make those at home.
